Novice Road
For new racers
Open motor/battery/esc
The purpose of the Novice class is to give new racers a class to have a lot of fun.
We do not enforce any motor, battery, or body rules in the Novice class.
We recommend building your Novice car to match the rules of the class
you want to grow into someday, but we do not require you to do so.
For example, you can run a Stock Touring Car, USGT, or VTA car in the Novice class.
F1
The Formula 1 class follows all of the UF1 rules.
Mini
Legal chassis platforms: M05, M05 V2, M06, and M-07 platforms only
TAMIYA M-Chassis bodies only.
Timing Rules: Physical motor timing is allowed. However, you may not go beyond the manufacturer’s maximum timing mark.
No BOOST ESC (Electronic Speed Control) rules: Any ROAR legal and approved ESC may be used capable of “Blinky-Mode”. These ESC’s must not use electronic timing (boost). See General Rules for ROAR approved “blinky” ESC list.
Tamiya internal gears only. Aftermarket idler and spur gears are not legal.
Battery rules: Any Legal TCS battery. See General rules. Note: LIPO battery packs used in the M-Chassis class that are Sport Packs (a rounded profile) must be hard case batteries but are not required to be ROAR approved. Grinding the battery slot to fit rectangular batteries is not permitted.
Minimum weight: All M-chassis cars must meet a minimum weight of 1300 grams.
Spec Tire rules: You must use the Tamiya S-Grip Radial Tire (#53254), Suzuki Swift white spoke wheel (#51237), and Super Hard Inner Foam (#54590) or Hard Inner Foam (#53255) for this class. Note: You must assemble this specification tire yourself. This is the ONLY tire/wheel/inserts combination allowed for the class. Caution: Assembled tires may not exceed 60MM in diameter!
Gearing: 20 tooth maximum pinion size (ALL Chassis platforms)
It is forbidden to mount the ESC on the gearbox. You must place the ESC in the positions offered in the instruction manual of your M-Chassis.

If you do not see a class listed that you want to run, you can bring your friends and start a new class. As long as you have a minimum of three cars, you can create a new class.
